About Joanna
Joanna (Jo) is passionate about helping people regain confidence and independence through movement. With over two decades of physiotherapy experience, she’s known for her warm, down-to-earth approach and her commitment to making meaningful, lasting improvements in her clients’ health and quality of life.
When she’s not supporting her clients, Jo enjoys spending time outdoors and making memories with her two kids. Her love of family and lifelong learning inspires the care and compassion she brings to every session.
Specialty
Jo’s clinical expertise spans orthopedic trauma and reconstructive surgery (including total hip and knee replacements), fracture management, cardiorespiratory care (such as pneumonia and COPD), pelvic floor rehabilitation, and recovery from acute or chronic medical conditions. She also has a special interest in falls prevention and helping clients rebuild strength and mobility after hospital stays or surgery.
Experience
A Queen’s University graduate (2006), Jo has worked extensively across both acute care and rehabilitation settings. She’s passionate about working with older adults—helping them stay active, independent, and engaged in their communities. Jo is a proud member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia. She holds advanced training in Pelvic Floor Levels 1, 2, and 3, serves as a teaching assistant at UBC’s Department of Physical Therapy, and instructs with the Internationally Educated Physiotherapists Exam Preparation (IEPEP) Program.
