-
Rehabilitation Assistants are trained professionals who help clients follow a tailored therapy program developed by a licensed physiotherapist (PT). They assist with exercises, mobility training, and day-to-day rehabilitation activities to help clients achieve their recovery goals from the comfort of home.
-
More Frequent Sessions: RAs offer cost-effective care, allowing for more frequent sessions to keep you on track with your recovery.
Accountability: Regular visits with an RA help you stay consistent with your exercises and rehabilitation goals.
Personalized Support: RAs work one-on-one with you to ensure you’re performing exercises correctly and safely, maximizing the effectiveness of your treatment plan.
Convenience: Sessions are conducted in your home, making rehabilitation more accessible and eliminating the need to travel.
Seamless Coordination: RAs collaborate closely with your physiotherapist to ensure your progress aligns with your treatment plan.
-
Unfortunately, RA is not covered under extended health plans. However, RA services are often covered under ICBC claims and health spending plans. Our team can help verify your coverage and provide direct billing when possible.
-
A Rehabilitation Assistant can be added to your care plan after your physiotherapist has worked with you for 2-4 sessions. This allows the PT to develop a safe and effective treatment plan tailored to your specific needs, which the RA will then help you implement.
-
Rehabilitation Assistants can support clients recovering from injuries, surgeries, neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, Parkinson’s), or those requiring general mobility and strength improvements.
-
Your physiotherapist designs and oversees your treatment plan, and the Rehabilitation Assistant ensures that the plan is carried out consistently. The PT regularly checks progress and updates the plan as needed.
